I created this piece during my field season in the Driftless area of Iowa working on a Brook Trout occupancy research project. Every day, I was backpack electrofishing cold, clear streams across the vast region; counting, identifying, and releasing every species of fish we shocked up. Drawing this key helped me learn the fish.
Features twelve of my favorite fish that I worked with as well as a garnish of jewelweed (A native plant that soothes stinging nettle).
